Eva's 1st "Official" Haircut & A Look Back in Hair

We have been saying we need to get Eva's hair cut for a LONG time now so last week we finally took her to Cool Cuts to get it shaped up. I'm calling it her first "official" haircut because I did cut it myself a year ago right before her first birthday because she had a mullet. I mean, who wants a mullet in their 1st Birthday pictures? I wasn't in denial about the fact that she had a mullet I think I was just doing the first-time mom thing and not wanting to cut her hair. I would just tuck her little mullet under and hope no one noticed, but let's be honest, a mullet is a mullet and you can't hide it. Here is a tip for all moms whether you want to hear it or not, take it or leave it, if your child has a mullet or comb-over...cut it! You will be so glad you did and you won't regret cutting their precious hair. The comb-over could be a totally different discussion. You know what I'm talking about, the 5 strands of long hair on the top of the head that are the only ones growing. Yeah, it's about as bad as the mullet.

Anyway, so we took Eva and got her hair trimmed and she did so well. I think she loved sitting in the little car and getting pampered. Can't you tell she is totally loving it by her huge smile?

In honor of the first haircut I thought I would add some of my favorite hair pictures from the past 2 years.

The Mullet...I know, Amazing.

Donald Trump?

Wow!

Rough day?

Sweatbands are always a good look

I promise I really do brush her hair

I saved the best for last. This is my all-time favorite hair picture and I really don't know what to say about it other than that it is INCREDIBLE!!

With this kind of hair we are in for a lifetime of good hair pictures. Can't wait!

Third pic from the top - Little Miss Eva has bershon down pat. That should come in handy when she's 13 ;)

Totally bershon!! That Eva is amazing. Her hair is unbelievable! I remember the "Donald", I remember the mullet, and I give you a big round of applause for cutting her hair! :) She is adorable--thanks for the memories.

I can't believe it! You really weren't exaggerating at all - HA!! I don't remember ever thinking in person that Eva looked rather mullet-ish, but these pictures prove it - it's been a while since I laughed that hard. Thanks for the entertainment, friend!

P.S. We'll totally be there this weekend!

I laughed out loud at several of those pictures. Blake, too, is a little jealous of hair...so I won't show her your blog this time. We will probably be able to hold off getting her hair cut until she goes to 1st grade...we'll see.

Blake and I want to come swimming.

Sonya also had a mullet--not quite as thick as Eva's seems to have been, but nevertheless it was there and I was always self conscious about it. You were a good Mommy to trim it :)

Haven't seen you in awhile...hope all is well!

Greatness! She is adorable... mullet or not! But you did the right thing for sure. :) We never had the mullet per se, but I did have to cut R's tremendous rat tail at 5 months. It was serious. Anyways, kudos Mommy. She looks precious!

So Garrett is looking at these Eva hair pictures with me and he pointed out that one of the pictures in the middle when she was a baby was Riley W. I said "no that's Eva" and he said "no that's Riley"...moving on. We get to the last picture and he says "what's that"?

I don't know how she did that to her hair. These are great and thanks for the great laugh! :)

Amy,

I am so glad that I found your blog and to get an update on your family. The pictures are great! It was also refreshing to read your reflection on how God is working in your life and to read the verse. I needed to be reminded myself. Your family is in our thoughts and prayers!

What a great post...it made me laugh out loud. She is so adorable, in every single one of her hair stages.

Oh, and I got the hint about the combover. KJ appreciates that there are people like you out there watching out for him.

I am crying because I am laughing so hard. I think I woke up the baby. That was the best post ever. And yes, CJ does in fact have the aforementioned comb over. It will probably take me another 6 months to do something about it.
